COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Timothy James Hetzel, 55, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Tim passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. He was born in Hinsdale, Illinois, the youngest son of the late Robert L. Hetzel and Ruth Arnold Hetzel.
He graduated from Lake Brantley High School in Florida. Tim followed in his dad's footsteps and spent 35 years working in the vending business.
Tim was a fishing enthusiast, especially trout and bass fishing, He was a friend of Bill's for 17 years and cherished that fellowship. Tim enjoyed going to rock concerts, playing his guitars, writing songs, and quirky little jingles. Above all, he loved spending time with his beautiful family. He was fun and fun to love!
Tim is survived by his wife, Julie Hetzel, daughters Heather (Jordan) and Lily, stepson Dean (Katlin) Yoak, two grandchildren Landen and Kinsley, stepmother Marilyn Glowacki Hetzel, brothers Raymond, Robert Jr. (Kathleen), Charles (Kathleen), sisters Carol, Sandra (William), many loving nieces, nephews, family, friends, and work associates.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Catherine, nephew Michael, and niece Rebecca.
