Obituary
Elgin – Funeral service for Norman Ford, 89, will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Union Baptist Church Building Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Mr. Ford passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at The Colonial at Old Camden Assisted Living. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Horace E. Ford and Odessa Koon Ford. He served in the United States Army and retired as a carpenter. He was a member of Union Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Trustee. Mr. Ford enjoyed fishing, hunting and construction work.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Jane Ford; sons, Johnny Ford (Terri), Tommy Ford, and Tim Ford (Phyllis); daughter, Pam Medlin; brother, Jimmy Ray Ford (Patricia); sister, Sandra Lorraine Richardson; grandchildren, Sarah Williams (Sam), Meredith Ford, Trey Smith, Lauren Ruppe (Cameron), Cameron Smith (Katherine) and Hannah Medlin; and great-grandchildren, Ella Williams, Luke Williams, Olivia Kate Williams, Cohen Ruppe and Jameson Smith. He was predeceased by sisters, Margie Brown and Jeanette McDowell.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff at The Colonial at Old Camden Assited Living and Pruitt Health Hospice and his nurse, Dale.
