Lonnie Wilson Sr
Lonnie Wilson, Sr., 85, of Elgin, SC, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, August 17, 2026. Lonnie was born on June 10, 1941, to Frank Wilson and Laura Campbell Wilson. He liked being outdoors, trips to the mountains, and quality time with his family. Prior to his retirement, Lonnie worked for many years for the American Amusement Company. He was an advocate for animals and enjoyed the company of his many pets. Lonnie’s greatest accomplishment was giving his time, love, and energy to support the people of his family, especially his wife of 51 years, Patricia A. Wilson.
The funeral service for Lonnie will be held at 10 o’clock Thursday, August 20th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. Burial will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 11020 Two Notch Rd, Elgin, SC.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the services beginning at 9 o'clock.
