With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our beloved Juanita Faye Harrison, who left us on May 30, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on October 19, 1939, in Rock, W.V., she was the daughter of the late Carl Robert Shrewsbury and Lydia Emiline Karnes Shrewsbury. Juanita was a humble soul who lived a full life, sowing seeds of love and kindness wherever she went.
Juanita was the epitome of love, a virtue she cultivated throughout her life, not just within her family, but in every interaction she had. A dedicated homemaker, she spent her days ensuring her home was a sanctuary of warmth and comfort. She had a passion for fishing and gardening, activities she found both joyful and therapeutic. The time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, was Juanita's greatest joy and most cherished moments.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, located at 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina. The funeral service will be Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, Elgin.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sarah Dolly Porter of Elgin and Sherry Lynn Goff (James) of Ridgeway; son, Dean Harrison (Renee) of Lugoff; 6 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gaines Paul Harrison Jr.; and siblings, Opal Woolwine, Ruby Hurst, Garnett Shrewsbury, Pansy Mills, and Kenneth Shrewsbury.
