Johnie Marvin Whitaker "Boots", parted this life on January 7, 2024 in Camden SC at the age of 69. He was born on December 29, 1954 in Columbia, SC to the late Marvin and Willie Mae Whitaker. He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School in Columbia SC in 1972. Following his graduation, Johnie enlisted in the United States Air Force and also served in the National Guard stationed at McEntire Air National Guard Base in Sumter, SC where he exemplified courage, honor, and dedication to his country. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Stacy Coleman and Brittany Ruiz, son Brent Cowart, and a host of cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Pamela Whitaker, son Adam Whitaker, and brother Kenneth Bernard Whitaker. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, located at 11020 Two Notch Road, Elgin, SC 29045. All who knew Johnie are invited to join in honoring his memory.
