Obituary of Betty Sue Smith
CAMDEN- A funeral service for Betty Sue Smith, 82, will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Randy Sharp will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to No Stone Ministries at 127 Northgate Dr., Camden SC 29020.
Mrs. Smith passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025. Born in Jackson, TN, she was a daughter of the late Charles Woodrow Case and Daisy Cantrell Williams. Mrs. Smith was a member of No Stones Ministries. She was a minister and an evangelist who participated in Jail Ministry. She enjoyed helping others, baking, cooking, painting, music, and especially spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband, Larry Smith; sons, James “Jim” Buckingham of Camden, Earl Buckingham (Tamra) of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Brittany Waldrep (Pate), Daisy Buckingham; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Waldrep, Hope Shealy; and siblings, Rose Crow of WY and Ann Gwathney of AL. She was predecease by her step-father, Elmer Williams; and siblings, Dorothy Groat, Larry Williams, Noah Williams, Lily Rockefeller, and Roy Lee Williams.
